HB 267 -- Trooper's Law
See Trooper's Story....how it all began:
If you encounter an injured or orphaned fawn in the state of Ohio and call the ODNR, Division of Wildlife, they will either come out and kill the baby or tell you to do nothing and let him die. To the caring and compassionate, neither of these options are acceptable. In addition, veterinarians are told not to treat little fawns. Some have even been threatened.
Currently, there is a bill in the house committee that could change things! Trooper's Law, HB 267. The bill has been changed and reduced to a sub bill which supports veterinarian freedom and sanctuary for handicapped deer. The rehabilitation portion will need dealt with again in the future.
HB 267 has been held up in committee for several months. The following committee members have not yet verbally expressed to us support for the lives these animals.
Please let them know that time has technically run out and the citizens of Ohio are asking for help.

The committee is refusing to vote on the bill. If they continue to refuse a vote, it will die in committee and we will be starting over again in January. They need to vote!!
We are not giving up though and need people to continue calling Representative Al Landis. Tell him that the committee needs to vote on HB #267.
